The southern tioga marching band was started in the 1970’s as a district-wide initiative of the southern tioga school district band staff to provide a field-show marching experience for the students. the schools of our district were too small on their own to field a full band, but together, it was possible! The group disbanded for a while, and was reformed in fall of 2006!

after 2 years of building and performing at football games, the band competed for the first time in 2008, and became the regional class chapter 4 champions! For 2009, the band competed in the championship class and earned a spot at atlantic coast championships in the invitational class, then earning a “best percussion” award at that contest! In 2010, the band competed in TOB’s new “A-Class” and earned a championship at Chapter 4, and second place with a “best percussion” award at Atlantic Coast Championships in Hershey, PA! In 2011 they are taking another step forward, competing in the open class in 2011 and taking another step forward in quality and size!
